For example, women tend to hide their alcohol and drug abuse, and suffer more shame for their issues. That's why we have created our programs around the unique needs of women in treatment and recovery. Our gender-specific programs provide a woman with a safe atmosphere where she can be open about her past, her relationships and her feelings without worrying what the men in the group might think. Our programs are abstinence-focused and use 12 Step Program principles. We concentrate not only on the disease of addiction, but guilt and shame, self-esteem, assertiveness, life skills for sobriety, nutrition and relationship issues as well.Treatment plans are personalized and flexible and all programs have a family component. Residence XII is dual diagnosis capable. We offer free assessments, residential and inpatient treatment, intensive outpatient services, continuing care, relapse prevention and family counseling.
