Ellensburg Agate & Bead Shop - (509) 925-4998

For one week during the summer of 2003 I stayed in Ellensburg with my older sister, who was at the time working at Ellensburg Agate and Bead. As a result, I got the opporunity to spend a bit of time there to see how things worked. The shop is definitely large enough to roam around and forget yourself in, stocked with stones and other beautiful rocks of all kinds, including the infamous Ellensburg Blue. Beads are in abundance here, with every shape, color, size, and texture. Contrary to the store's name, there is also jewelry and smaller trinkets made of wood, glass, and other materials to snag the eye and capture the senses. The owners are serious about their work, and do it well. They are also fun, nice, and their demeanors are generally pretty jolly with customers. However, they are usually able to help you find what you need (unless you're asking for something highly unusual, of course), and leave you with a sense of satisfaction. I like this place for getting supplies. I used to collect rocks and I got many of them from here. The staff is helpful and the environment is fun. It's easy to find what you need here.
