The bar has been around for years, and has been located on the corner of Main Street and Broadway since at least 1901. The salon was founded in the early 20th century and is one of the oldest bars we have found in Washington state.

We have not found a reliable date for the establishment of this bar, but we have read that it started here between 1906 and 1912. This would make it the oldest bar in Georgetown, which was annexed by Seattle on March 29, 1910 (depending on census). This year name changes were allowed in a single bar and we read that they started here from 1906 to 1912.

Whether this is true is hard to tell, given the other bars mentioned here, but we have no information on how long the Antlers Bar in Twisp has been in existence or how soon after the ban it was back in operation. It seems absurd to attribute such a high age to a recently opened ultra lounge, but it has been around for more than a decade, and is certainly older than many of Georgetown's older bars, especially those that emerged before the ban.

The present Oak Harbor Tavern seems to be located in a building that was founded around 1852 or at least 1856 by Captain Edward Barrington as a salon and shop. The building was built in 1913 and was home to the Bill Brown Saloon until the early 1930s, which later became the Inn and Saloons and eventually became the Old Inn & Tavern sometime in the 1940s.

If the information about the Oak Harbor Tavern is even remotely accurate, it is very old and probably an ongoing institution by these criteria. If so, it seems that J.M.'s is probably the oldest legal tavern in Washington State, at least as far as I know. If Washington were a state, there would have been no legal taverns at the time, but that was in the midst of Prohibition, so

The present-day antlers structure was built at the beginning of the 20th century after a fire had destroyed large parts of the city centre. Central Cafe, Saloon and Tavern were all part of the same building, just a few blocks apart. Both closed in 2009 and many furniture items were sold, including the large mahogany bar that now resides at The Bar on Capitol Hill.

Ripley's Believe it or not was once the smallest hotel west of the Rockies. The Talk Tavern was in the 1950s from 1933, and Lars Johnson turned it into a beer hall. Lars was the owner of the Pioneer Saloon, which was demolished in 1929 and turned into Lars' Johnson's.
